About Zeynep

Hi, I'm Zeynep, MBACP (Accred) Registered Accredited Member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. The BACP accredited status means my practice has been deemed to meet the higher standards as a competent, ethical, and independent Therapist following vigorous assessment process. I am bound and committed to provide therapy in line with BACP’s ethical framework and committed to deliver a high standard of therapy, tailored to your needs.

I am aware that seeking help might not be easy. We all experience challenges and difficulties and wish to be able to work through them and move forward. Working together in an empathetic, safe, non-judgmental, and confidential environment, we can make sense of, and work through, the issues that brought you to therapy. I'm naturally a compassionate person and am passionate about helping people to manage their emotional pain and have a better quality of life.

There are many reasons why people contact me. It may be depression or anxiety, relationship difficulties or break-up, sexual abuse, emotional distress, or bereavement. You may be experiencing work-related stress, panic, low self-esteem, social anxiety, health anxiety, obsessive thoughts and feelings, difficulties following a trauma, phobias and other feelings that are hard to live with.
All those who contact me wish to talk about what concerns them and find a way to manage and overcome thoughts and feelings that are preventing them from leading enjoyable and fulfilling lives.

My Approach:

I draw from a wide range of evidence-based Psychological Therapies in my practice. I tailor the therapy to the individual’s needs. I had substantial trainings in the following Therapies. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to explore and work on unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours. I use Psychodynamic Psychotherapy to work on past difficulties that have been triggered by present circumstances, and Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) to specifically work on repeated relationship patterns and difficulties. I am also trained and experienced in helping people to manage their anxiety and depression related to their long-term physical health conditions such as Chronic pain, Fibromyalgia, Chronic fatigue, IBS, COPD, Cardio-vascular disease, Diabetes and Cancer in remission.

My Experience:

I have 20 years of experience in mental health field, working with adults of all ages in a wide range of short and long-term NHS Mental Health Services and mental health charities. Currently, I work part time for an NHS Primary Care Service as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Psychodynamic Counsellor as well as private practice. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked many years as a Mental Health Advocate in London.
