Wild Church Meetings 2026 – The Upminster Sanctuary
At The Upminster Sanctuary, our Wild Church meetings are a space to slow down, come together, and offer kindness to the land that holds us.
Our intention is simple: to calm, nurture, and honour the Earth, helping her to rest, recover, and feel loved.
Through drumming, singing, quiet healing practices, and shared presence, we create a space of care and respect for nature. This is not about belief or religion, it is about connection, responsibility, and giving back.
If you feel concerned about the way our planet is treated, and would like to be part of something that offers care instead of harm, you are warmly invited to join us.

🌿 Why Wild Church?
Many of us feel a quiet ache when we see the Earth struggling. Wild Church offers a gentle, grounded way to respond, not through protest or debate, but through presence, care, and relationship.
When we gather outdoors with intention, something shifts. We begin to remember that we are part of nature, not separate from it. By slowing down and listening, we create space for healing, both for the land and for ourselves.
This is simple, heartfelt work: showing up, offering kindness, and tending to our connection with the living world.
🌼 Who Is It For?
Wild Church is open to:
Anyone who feels concern for the planet
Those seeking calm and grounding
People who enjoy being outdoors in gentle community
Individuals looking for meaningful, non-religious gatherings
Families, friends, and solo visitors
No prior experience is needed. There are no expectations, performances, or pressures, just a welcoming space to be present.

🌳 What Makes This Different?
Wild Church is not a traditional church service. There are:
No sermons
No doctrine
No required beliefs
No obligation to speak or participate in any particular way
Instead, we gather in shared respect for nature. The practices are simple and accessible — moments of stillness, gentle rhythm, shared song, and quiet reflection.
You are free to engage in whatever way feels right for you.
🌞 The Setting
The Upminster Sanctuary provides a peaceful natural setting, a space where birdsong, trees, and open sky become part of the gathering itself.
Being outdoors helps us reconnect with the rhythms of the seasons. Each monthly meeting reflects the changing energy of the year, from the freshness of spring to the quiet turning inward of autumn.
Nature is not just the backdrop. She is at the heart of what we do.
💚 A Space of Care
At the centre of Wild Church is a simple question:
What does it mean to offer care instead of harm?
Through intentional presence and small acts of respect, we cultivate a culture of kindness, toward the Earth, toward one another, and toward ourselves.
These gatherings are gentle by design. You can simply arrive, breathe, and be.
